This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use the Vibe application ("the App"), developed by Petr Nezval.
Vibe is built strictly with a privacy-first approach. We believe your data belongs to you, which is why the App is designed to process and store information locally on your device or within your private Apple services whenever possible.
1. Data Collection and Usage
Vibe is designed to function without collecting your personal data on any developer-owned servers.
- Translation Services: Vibe utilizes the native iOS Translation framework (iOS 18+) to translate song lyrics. All translations are processed 100% on-device. No text or audio data is sent to our servers or any third-party cloud services for translation purposes.
- Lyrics Data: The App fetches time-synced lyrics from the public LRCLIB API.
2. Data Storage and Synchronization
- Local Caching: Downloaded lyrics are cached locally on your device using SwiftData to improve performance and reduce network usage.
- iCloud Synchronization: Vibe uses your private iCloud account (via CloudKit) to sync your saved lyrics and application state across your Apple devices (iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad). This data is end-to-end encrypted by Apple and is not accessible to the developer.
- Authentication Tokens: If you choose to connect your Spotify account, the required OAuth tokens are stored securely in your device's native iOS Keychain.
3. Analytics and Tracking
- Zero Third-Party Tracking: Vibe does not include any third-party analytics SDKs or tracking frameworks.
- App Tracking Transparency: The App does not collect the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and does not send any tracking events to external servers.
4. Third-Party Services
To provide its core functionality, Vibe interacts with the following third-party services directly from your device:
- Apple Music / MusicKit: Used to retrieve currently playing song information and control playback.
- Spotify Web API & iOS SDK: Used to connect your Spotify account, retrieve currently playing song information, and control playback.
- LRCLIB: A public REST API used exclusively for fetching lyrics in LRC format.
The use of these services is subject to the respective privacy policies of Apple Inc. and Spotify AB.
