The short version

Platedex stores your data on your device. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs. We never see your data.

What we collect

Nothing. Every trip, plate, player name and score you enter stays in the app's local database on your device (and in your personal iCloud backup if you use device backups).

Location

Location is off by default. If you switch on "Remember where I spot plates" in a trip's settings, the app asks iOS for permission and then saves the place where you were with each sighting, so it can show the distance from home and, later, a map of your trip. This happens only while the app is open, never in the background, and the location stays on your device like everything else. You can switch it off at any time in the same trip settings or in iOS Settings.

Purchases

Platedex Plus is a one-time purchase processed by Apple. We receive no payment details. Restore it any time from Settings → Restore Purchases; it follows your Apple Account and works with Family Sharing.

Export

Your data leaves the app only when you export it yourself (CSV). Where you send that file is entirely up to you.

Data deletion

Settings → Reset all data deletes everything the app stores. Deleting the app does the same.
